In loving memory

Created by Liz 3 years ago

We set up this page in loving memory of our mum.  We have lots of lovely memories, as we are sure that those who knew our mum, also do, and we will forever treasure them.

She loved her sports cars and who can forget the green MGBGT that was certainly well-known in Greenford!  We both remember all the magical mystery tours that we used to go on, which sometimes were by accident as we had got lost on route.

Then there was the time she dedicated to Holy Cross Church and the impact she had on those that attended, all the good friends she made and her commitment to the Church.  She was Brown Owl, joined the bereavement group, helped with Baptisms and joined the Choir where she loved to sing.  Even in her last 2 years at Hanwell House Care Home, she would sometimes get up with the entertainer to sing a song.

Poem

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard him call

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh and love, to work and play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss

Ah yes these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savoured much

Good friends, good time, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seems all too brief

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me

God wanted me now

He set me free
